You Should Be Listening presents: Billy Allen + The Pollies
All Ages Show
Billy Allen + The Pollies' debut album Black Noise blends Southern rock with gospel, grunge, funk, and soul across 11 tracks. The album kicks off with the empowering anthem "All of Me" and closes with the haunting "Go on Without Them." The band is a collaboration between frontman Billy Allen and the rock outfit The Pollies, a partnership that began eight years ago in a bar. After crossing paths as session musicians at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, they finally came together, solidifying their bond while working on Little Richard’s “Greenwood, MS.” The group has since rehearsed, toured, and written under their new moniker, creating a seamless musical fusion.

$14 Advanced General Admission Tickets on sale now
You Should Be Listening presents:
Moony : "Raw, vulnerable, and often unhinged, Nashville-based Seth Findley, AKA moony, wastes no time getting to the heart of the matter with his music and coinciding world-building. Blurring the line between genres showcasing a sonic landscape of edgy alt-rock, mellow indie, catchy pop, and a touch of punk, moony is at full form." (Medium)
Silvie is an indie-pop artist based in Nashville, TN. Although the project began more than five years ago, her sound and story have evolved as she herself has transformed in the last few years through pain and healing. With her poetic lyrics, honest story-telling, and unique pop-rock sound, it’s hard not to feel connected to the stories she’s telling as you listen. Her latest EP, Eleven Twenty-Eight, is a deeply personal journey through Silvie’s adulthood, divorce, and identity that only leaves you wanting more of her stories.

The Cold Stares
Advanced $15.00 Tickets - On Sale Now
Day Of $18.00
The Cold Stares is often endearingly referred to as a Southern band in the press and by fans, despite being a modern blues-rock power trio based out of Evansville, Indiana. Yet, there is an elusive southern quality to the three-piece band’s music and storytelling songwriting. Maybe it’s because guitarist-singer Chris Tapp and drummer Brian Mullins are from Western Kentucky. Though the guys have never shied away from their heritage, on their aptly-titled seventh album, The Southern, out September 6th on Mascot Records, The Cold Stares explores what it means to be Southern through delving deep into themes of resilience, redemption, and the enduring power of personal and musical legacy.
Initially formed in 2012, The Cold Stares began its career as a duo, but expanded its sonic firepower with the addition of bassist Bryce Klueh in 2022. Though the trio has below the Mason-Dixon Line origins, the group mines a woolier sound than expected. Fuzzed-out guitars, Zep-style riffs, and fleet-fingered Cream-style improvisations abound, as do nods to Delta blues. The group has been praised by Classic Rock Magazine, No Depression, and American Songwriter, among other outlets; reached #1 on Amazon Music’s Blues Rock album chart; earned prime sync license placements in commercials, on major network television, and on sports games.

Ben Katzman : AXE-GRINDING ARIES/SHRED INSTRUCTOR
When it comes to the music industry, Ben Katzman has seen it all. He serves as the creative force behind the shred-tacular metal outfit, DeGreaser. He’s rocked with influential acts like Guerilla Toss, Mannequin Pussy, and Colleen Green.
He’s toured the world, written jingles, and even launched his own label, the cult-classic BUFU Records. While all of these experiences have shaped who Ben Katzman is today, there is one step in his musical journey that has spawned the biggest paradigm shift in his life - teaching kids to express themselves through the power of guitar.
Recently a final three contestant on Survivor, "Katzman found a second chance [with music] through his appearance on the show, breaking out by simply being himself...While he didn’t emerge victorious, he won over a sea of new fans, drawn to his infectious energy and approach to life." (Rolling Stone).
Beersippers : Birmingham locals Beersippers feature members of Dommel Mosel and Grandaddy Ghostlegs. Their lyrics are candid reflections that manage to find the humor in life’s monotony. They play an eclectic mix of rhythm-heavy indie, rock, and punk.

I thought lemons were a fruit. Yes, lemons are a fruit. However, Lemon's (with an apostrophe 's) is a Memphis-based indie rock band composed of Susie Hydrick, Jackson Williams, and Ben Spiegelman. While their sound is heavily characterized by catchy guitar riffs and thoughtful instrumentation, just as much, if not more, thought goes into the lyrical content of their music. They often draw inspiration from life experiences, such as family trauma, romantic and familial relationships, and their own introspective journeys. Their sound is reminiscent of groups who inspire them like Young the Giant, The Backseat Lovers, Arctic Monkeys, and other indie rock groups. Lemon's stepped into the music scene in February 2021 with hopes to one day tour the world and be the force behind the song you get sick of hearing on the radio. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to catch a live show, follow their socials, and listen to their latest release!

Kate Hollingsworth + Joe D. Nelson
All Ages Event
Advanced $10 Tickets are on sale now!
Kate Hollingsworth -Birmingham native whose deep-rooted connection to music was cultivated in a family where harmonies and melodies were as commonplace as conversations. As a seasoned musician, Kate is no stranger to the stage, having spent years performing with her husband, Taylor, in their critically acclaimed band, Dead Fingers. Their unique blend of Americana and rock earned them a devoted following and a reputation for soulful, raw performances.
In addition to her work with Dead Fingers, Kate toured extensively with her siblings, including her sister, Maria Taylor, a well-known name in the indie music scene. Together, they brought a familial warmth and dynamic energy to audiences across the country.
Now, Kate is making a triumphant return to her roots as a solo artist, channeling her experiences from years on the road and in the studio into a sound that is distinctly her own. Her music, rich with emotion and storytelling, reflects her journey through life as a musician, wife, and mother, while also paying homage to her Birmingham upbringing and the musical heritage that has shaped her.
Joe D Nelson -For the better part of the 21st Century, Joe D. Nelson (aka Jody Nelson) has been writing songs about how strange it is to be anything at all. He trades in a perverse Americana articulated via a novelist’s eye for detail, a poet’s love of the liminal, playful surrealism, and sci-fi morality.
Nelson cut his songwriting teeth via his former outfit, Through The Sparks -- a Birmingham, Alabama garage band consisting of formidable multi-instrumentalists and studio rats whose instrumental ambitions could easily match his fevered lyrical visions. With his solo debut, Iced Cherries, Nelson helms every intricacy with wide eyes and a full heart -- inverting his past techniques by abandoning electric guitars and ProTools in favor of deft fingerpicking on an acoustic guitar and recording live to analog tape.
"Remember the name Jody Nelson, because you'll soon be hearing it mentioned with the likes of Jeff Tweedy, Ron Sexsmith, and A.C. Newman." -Jim Di Gioia, Quick Before It Melts
